The annual Living Hope Family Camp Out was a huge success!
This year we, once again, set up our tents and popped up our pop-ups at Metzler Park, and spend three wonderful days playing in the creek, tossing water balloons, eating way too much, and just generally enjoying the heck out of each other (and we even avoided getting struck by lightning!)
Prayer for all the Saints and for those yet to receive Christ was the focus for Saturday morning’s gathering. Worship rang out through the park and even warmed the heart of the Camp Host as he listened from his golf cart.
Saturday evening was spent recovering from the bar-b-que potluck and sharing the testimonies of God’s work in our lives.
Sunday morning, Jerry and Gwen Gibson shared with us their hearts and vision for International Media Ministries, and challenged us all to a deeper commitment to the mission field that waits outside our doors. (For more information about this ministry please visit: www.jerryandgwen.com)
Following the message, Pastor Doug led us all down to the water, where six of our kids were asked by their dads, “Will you follow me as I follow Christ?” with each “yes” a child was baptized and a new commitment was made to follow Jesus. (Thank you to the “Living Hope Corp of Engineers” for building a baptismal in the creek!)
We all came home a little tired, a little damp, and a little dirty, but with big smiles on our faces, ready for another year of fellowship, family, and bearing fruit for the Lord!
